Building UX maturity at Maya

At Maya I championed UX as a tool for learning, collaboration and team productivity, helping design become a shared practice across the company.

Beyond shipping products, I helped build a culture where design thinking could empower the whole organisation, not just the UX team. It was a journey of driving organisational adoption of design.

Design Exchange and Space Camp

Working closely with HR, our team organised a series of Learning Days, each with a theme. One highlight was the Space Camp launch, a company-wide event on design thinking. I led an open session that invited people from across the company to step into a UX mindset, with an afternoon of hands-on activities, problem-solving and creative exploration.

Amplifying the team's voice

To promote UX internally and build morale, I created and ran a social channel for the Voyager design team. It documented our projects and milestones, and the lighter side of team life, giving visibility to the people and stories behind the work.

These initiatives helped establish UX as more than a discipline. It became a shared mindset and practice across Maya. By opening conversations, creating chances to learn and celebrating team identity, we built stronger connections across departments and raised design's role in the company's culture.
